The duty free shop also marks the establishment of cdf Cruise as a wholly-owned subsidiary of CDFG.

Piano Land, the inaugural cruise ship of Astro Ocean Cruise set sail from Shanghai on 25 July 2024 , featuring an onboard duty free store operated by China Duty Free Cruise (cdf Cruise) a subsidiary of China Duty Free Group (CDFG).

The store offers a wide range of shopping options and services, which CDFG hopes will enhance the maritime cultural and tourism experience for passengers.

The cruise ship is 261m in length and 32 meters in width, with a total tonnage of 70,000 and a full capacity of 1,800 guests.

The duty free shop is situated on decks 6 and 7 and occupies an area of 650sq m.

Inside can be found several international luxury brands across: spirits; leather goods; jewelry; accessories; sunglasses; cosmetics, fragrance; and confectionery.

To celebrate the opening, CDFG has launched several exclusive co-branded collections, which it said will enhance the shopping experience and highlight the unique charm of the ship.

CDFG noted these collections fall under a ‘Gulangyu’ co-branded model.

Additionally, the Captain’s Lounge is themed around Shanghai, blending maritime and local culture.
