Be a Changi Millionaire returns as the airport opens a slew of new retail, F&B and wellness outlets.

Singapore Changi Airport and Jewel have recently opened more than 20 retail and F&B outlets, and teamed up for the Be a Changi Millionaire year-long shopping campaign that offers passengers prizes up to S$1m/about US$747k.

Of the new outlets, which also include beauty services, 16 are new-to-Changi and new-to-Jewel.

Recently opened eateries include Western salad bar XW Western Grill, contemporary Chinese restaurant Crown Prince Kitchenette, while McDonald’s has returned to Terminal 2 with a brand new look and Digital Play Wall.

Jamba Juice has opened its first outlet in Singapore at Terminal 1, with Starbucks and Burger King both joining the T4 line-up next month. Chocolatier Godiva is set to open a T3 café later in June.

Gourmet Sarawak, with its traditional Sarawakian dishes, has also opened, along with quick grab-and-go concept Archipelago Bar in T2.

Bacha Coffee has added a duplex store in T4, after opening its world’s largest store in T3 back in 2022, and Ella Robotic Barista will make its debut in T2 and T3.

Also new at Changi and Jewel is Beyond the Vines with its bags and accessories pop-up in the T3 Transit area, alongwith new-to-Changi brand Scarves & Glitter.

Set to open its doors soon is luxury Italian menswear brand Stefano Ricci, situated in T1.

Jewel health and wellness services

Health screening and fitness service Minmed Wellness Collective has opened its doors to Jewel visitors. A one-stop health and wellness concept, the service offers a first-to-market, convenient and comprehensive screening suite, as well as fitness classes.

Located in the Shiseido Forest Valley and Canopy Park, activities include rhythm cycling, yoga, barre and pilates.

Visitors can now enjoy an enhanced beauty and spa offering with Natureland’s second premium outlet, and Korean facials from SkinGO!

Jewel has broadened its wellness offering for visitors.

This June, seven new brands will join the 250-strong retail and F&B outlets at Jewel.

Hong Kong-based bakery Kee Wah will open its second Singapore location, with local patisserie Nesuto also making its debut.

Drone, camera and accessories store DJI will unveil its first physical Singapore store, and G-Shock Casio will introduce Jewel-exclusive products as part of its watch range.

Be a Changi Millionaire returns

Back for 2023, the year-long Be a Changi Millionaire promotion is back, running across shopping and dining outlets at Changi and Jewel, and digitally with iShopChangi.

Now in its 11th year, the promotion rewards purchases with prizes, with one winner taking home S$1 million and a Porsche Macan car.

To enter the draw, shoppers must spend S$50/US$37 in a single transaction. Chances of winning are increased if consumers use Changi’s ewallet, Changi Pay.

Customers who pay with Mastercard can additionally win staycations and tickets to local attractions.

Daily prizes include S$1,000, S$3,000-worth of Jewel vouchers. In addition, every month a pair of air tickets are given away, with destinations including Bhutan, Egypt, Turkey, Ethiopia, Fiji, New Caledonia, Australia and Korea.

Beyond the Vines offers a range of accessories from the airport.

“We are excited to showcase these new offerings, which reflect the latest trends and  cater to the diverse needs of our discerning travellers,” said Teo Chew Hoon, Changi Airport Group Managing Director for Airside Concessions.

“The ‘Be a Changi Millionaire’ campaign adds more joy and excitement to their journey with us and underscores our commitment to constantly evolving and delivering an extraordinary shopping and dining  experience.

“Whether it’s a million-dollar windfall or a dream vacation, we want to inspire  and reward our shoppers with life-changing experiences.”

‘A new opening every two weeks’

James Fong, Jewel Changi Airport Development CEO, added, “As an iconic multi-dimensional lifestyle destination, Jewel is constantly looking for ways to create the most exciting visitor experience, and at the same time strengthen Changi’s appeal.

“We are excited to welcome these new brands to Jewel as they expand their footprint in Singapore with their new and unique concepts to enhance the vibrant commercial mix.

McDonald’s has returned to Changi.

“There will be more than 30 new store openings expected by the end of 2023, translating to one new opening every two weeks.

“Jewel is also delighted to be part  of the ‘Be a Changi Millionaire’ shopping promotion this year where our visitors stand a  chance to win enticing prizes even as they indulge in Jewel’s extensive range of retail, F&B, services, and play attractions.”

Earlier this month, Chanel unveiled its first summer outpost in the Asia Pacific region at Changi’s Terminal 1, in partnership with both the airport and The Shilla Duty Free Singapore.
