Changi Airport Group CEO Seow Hiang Lee re-elected as ACI ASPAC President

Changi Airport Group CEO Seow Hiang Lee has been re-elected as ACI Asia-Pacific President for a further two years.

Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific has confirmed new officers, directors and special advisors to its regional board with immediate effect.

The new appointments were confirmed at the council’s first ever virtual assembly earlier this week. The annual Regional Assembly took place virtually following the cancellation of the 15th ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly, Conference and Exhibition.

The cancellation was due to the impact of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic on air travel.

Comprising aviation business leaders from the across the Asia Pacific and Middle East, the Regional Board governs the overall development strategy of ACI Asia-Pacific.

According to ACI Asia-Pacific airports across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East are ready for the restart of the aviation sector following the crippling impact of Covid-19.

NEW BOARD OFFICERS

H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman Sharjah Airport Authority (Second Vice President) and SGK Kishore, Executive Director, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd., (Second Vice President) have been elected as new Board Officers for two years.

ACI Asia-Pacific Virtual Assembly

The annual Regional Assembly took place virtually following the cancellation of the 15th ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly, Conference and Exhibition due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Additionally, Sheikh Aimen bin Ahmed Al Hosni, CEO, Oman Airports Management Company, (Secretary Treasurer), Seow Hiang Lee, CEO, Changi Airport Group (Singapore) Pte Ltd (President) and Emmanuel Menanteau, Board Member, Cambodia Airports, (First Vice President) have been elected as Board Officers on second two-year terms.

New Board Directors were also elected for three years during the virtual assembly. These are, Kjeld Binger, Permanent Sr Advisor to The Board of Directors, Airport International Group; Gert-Jan De Graaff, CEO, Brisbane Airport Corporation PTY Limited; Faiz Khan, CEO, Fiji Airports; Bon Hwan Koo, President and CEO, Incheon International Airport Corporation; Fred Lam, CEO, Airport Authority Hong Kong; Qin Yun, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Shanghai Airport Authority; Jean-Michel Ratron, CEO, Aeroport de Tahiti; Nitinai Sirismatthakarn, President, Airports of Thailand Public Co. Ltd; Chang Wan Son, CEO, Korea Airports Corporation; and Yoshiyuki Yamaya, Representative Director and CEO, Kansai Airports.

The Special Advisors appointed by the Regional Board are Eng Suleiman Al Bassam, Executive Vice President, General Authority of Civil Aviation; Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO, Delhi International Airport Ltd; and Xue Song Liu, Chairman, Beijing Capital International Airport Co., Ltd.

Seow Hiang Lee, President, ACI Asia-Pacific and CEO Changi Airport Group (Singapore) Pte Ltd, Singapore said:  “We are delighted to welcome these high-calibre leaders to the ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Board. Now, more than ever, it’s important ACI Asia-Pacific has a broad representation to help navigate the airport industry through these difficult times.”
