Changi Airport has launched its annual Changi Festive Village, offering fun for all the family with carnival rides and games, glamping with views of Jewel Changi Airport’s waterfall, and coveted sleepover camps.
The festive season celebrations kick-start in style today (4 November) with the fun-filled Terminal 3 (T3) Underground Carnival.
Featuring over 30 indoor rides, game booths and photo opportunities, visitors of all ages are invited on a journey through time with a variety of action-packed activities spanning more than 9,000 sqm over two floors.
The Great World (Basement 2 Carpark 3A) is home to a re-creation of the Tua Seh Kai Great World Amusement Park.
It’s sure to inspire nostalgia, with its roster of much-loved carnival games and rides, photo zones, and a “mama shop” selling ‘old school’ snacks.
Hidden away in the corner of The Great World is the World of Jellyfish (a first-in-Singapore installation) where travellers can take photos amid luminescent floating ‘jellyfish’.
There are over 30 game booths for passengers to test their skills at, with prizes up for grabs.
Flashing forward in time to the present day, visitors can explore The Modern World (Basement 2) and play a variety of games, such as the Ball the Clown ball toss game and the King Hammer strongman challenge.
The area also houses a 3D shooting gallery with the chance to win a cuddly plushy.
At The Future World (Basement 3), travellers will be transported to into a new era with the Wonder Wheels bumper car attraction and the Dino Kart 3.0 circuit, featuring neon lights and music, with views of top Singapore sights.
Credits for the carnival can be purchased on the iChangi app or with a physical carnival card at the ticketing booths located at T3 Underground Carnival.
An early bird promotion of S$100 (around US$71) for 130 carnival credits via the iChangi app is available until 17 November.
Alternatively, travellers can get up to 10 free carnival credits when spending minimum of S$50 (US$36) at airport landside outlets and S$80 (US$57) for FairPrice Finest and Jewel participating outlets with Mastercard or Changi Pay.
At the Jewel Changi Airport retail complex, people can go ‘glamping in the clouds’ in the marine-themed tents (each sleeps up to four) located at Level 5, Cloud9 Piazza, Jewel and boast views of the HSBC Rain Vortex.
The package (booking required, limited slots available) includes limited edition festive merchandise, T3 Underground Carnival credits, four tickets to River Wonders at Singapore Zoo, and more.
‘Glampicnics’ can also be enjoyed in the luxury glamping tents, adorned with festive decorations.
Glampers can bring their own picnic basket or use the discount code provided to pre-order from Changi Eats (Changi Airport’s food delivery service) which offers access to a wide range of dining options at Jewel and Changi.
The Glampicnic experience accommodates up to six guests and comes with limited edition festive merchandise, as well as a pair of tickets to River Wonders at Singapore Zoo.
Further to this, the sell-out ‘A Night at the Airport’ family-friendly camp experience is back for a third year running (booking required, limited slots available).
Those sleeping over in the Changi Experience Studio can take part in a range of sustainability themed activities, such as create eco-friendly festive ornaments using recycled items and embarking on a race-style quest around the airport to learn about its sustainable efforts.
There’s also ‘A Day in the Life of a Changi Trolley’ Design Thinking Workshop available for children.
More experiential activities are set to launch from 11 November 2022 onwards. Participants sign up at www.changifestivevillage.com.
