Changi T3 opening for Fifa football store

The travel retail division of the Global Brands Group (GBG) has announced it will be opening a new Fifa World Official football store at Changi Airport's Terminal 3 when it opens next year.

The travel retail division is headed up by former Nuance Australasia and Asia Ceo John Moore, with CBG holding the exclusive license to operate Fifa branded shops until 2014. GBG says it hopes the new store will open by early 2008, to capitalise on the growing interest in football in Asia.
In a statement, CBG President Martin Darby said: ‘Fifa World is the ultimate football lifestyle brand and will appeal to those who live for football, those who play football and those who are inspired by the beautiful game. The store will combine exclusive authentic World Cup inspired merchandise, with topical product and promotions related to Fifa and football events around the world.
‘We believe our timing is perfect for the introduction of an authentic lifestyle football retail concept into the global travel retail market. Airports and operators around the world are rapidly expanding their specialty store market and Fifa World Official stores will have immense customer appeal in every corner of the planet.’
The Global Brands Group holds the exclusive license for Fifa worldwide until 2014 and says it will act as the on-site concessionaire for all FIFA events throughout this eight-year term.
