Christian Strang leaves Nuance to join DFS

Christian Strang confirmed this morning that he has resigned from his position as Ceo of The Nuance Group Australia and New Zealand and will be joining DFS Group.
Strang told TREND this morning that he was ‘happy with the move’ and all will be revealed in an announcement from DFS next week. His decision to accept a position with DFS follows an 11-year stint with Nuance where he was appointed Ceo in September 2005 after holding a number of senior management positions within the company.
In an official statement he said: ?My years with the Nuance Group have been challenging and invigorating and I am grateful to the Nuance Group for the trust and confidence they have shown in me and the opportunities they have given me over the years. With the recent arrival of Newrest, the business is well placed to continue the transformation in line with the well-established strategy. The team is energised, the changes are happening and the rewards will follow.?
Nuance President and Ceo Roberto Graziani and Jonathan Stent-Torriani – Vice-Chairman of Nuance Australia and New Zealand – both paid tribute to Strang's contribution over the years.
Comment: Christian Strang's departure from Nuance will leave a big hole in the Nuance Australia and New Zealand operation. While many might say that his parting gift to Nuance was the retention of the Sydney Airport contract – and this was important – it should not be forgotten that it was Strang who renegotiated a deal with Melbourne Airport when both parties were in a messy legal situation. It was also Strang who delivered the vital contract extensions at the airports of Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns, which collectively are probably more profitable to Nuance than Sydney.
