Clarins is collaborated with cdf on a ‘Celebrity One-Day Manager’ event, giving selected consumers a chance to engage with celebrities by purchasing designated products.

Clarins Global Travel Retail (GTR) is advancing its anti-ageing skincare journey with the relaunch of the Extra-Firming franchise, which is being amplified in the channel through a high-impact activation at cdf Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex.

The new Clarins Extra-Firming range is said to mark a significant step forward in the company’s expertise in firming skincare with its phyto-science based formulation, powered by [Collagen] Technology, designed to target the quantity, quality and structure of collagen.

“With the relaunch of Extra-Firming, we are bolstering Clarins’ commitment to delivering high-performance skincare solutions that cater to the evolving needs of today’s travellers,” said Katalin Berenyi, Brand General Manager of Clarins.

“Informed by extensive research and backed by our expertise in both plant-based innovation and professional beauty techniques, Extra-Firming meets the growing demand for effective, sustainable skincare that targets firmness and anti-ageing by replenishing the skin’s collagen reserves, through our pioneering [Collagen] Technology – all while reducing environmental impact.

“By offering both proven results and a focus on responsible sourcing, we are providing our travel retail partners with a product range that not only elevates the category but also drives meaningful engagement with discerning consumers worldwide.”

Clarins Extra Firming

The relaunch of the Extra-Firming franchise sees Clarins team collagen innovation with sustainable credentials. Studies show that using the Extra-Firming Cream helps the skin to appear firmer in just seven days* while collagen reserves are replenished by 53%**. Plus, the range features Clarins’ first refillable cream jars.

In line with the company’s commitment to delivering traveller-centric skincare solutions, the worldwide launch of the Extra-Firming range in GTR sees Clarins spotlighting the [Collagen] Technology through a major activation at the cdf Sanya duty free shopping emporium.

At the heart of this is Clarins City Quest, which combines skincare education with entertainment by inviting travellers to discover the scientific innovation behind the Extra-Firming-themed range.

This is brought to life by three experience stations, each spotlighting a key ingredient or technology in the formula.

Lobbies of key hotels in Sanya feature Extra-Firming animations complemented by themed stands at front desks.

The activation, which taps into the trend for immersive role-play experiences, is deployed across key consumer engagement touchpoints in Sanya.

First up are installations in lobbies of key hotels in the city, complemented by themed stands at front desks.

At this station, guests are invited to locate the Pecan Extract and discover how Pecan Tree Extract can help to preserve collagen quality. Upon completion, participants receive a Clarins skincare trial kit.

The Polypeptide Research station, in partnership with Chagee, is located inside the premium tea drinks brand’s store at cdf Sanya.

Station two is a Polypeptide Research Station in partnership with premium tea drinks brand Chagee, inside the brand’s store at cdf Sanya.

By purchasing a co-branded drink and completing a collagen-themed crossword challenge, travellers can learn about the role of collagen polypeptides in boosting skin firmness, with participants rewarded with a Clarins skincare trial kit and a limited-edition Clarins x Chagee phone strap.

The third and final station is Mitracarpus Valley in the Clarins boutique at the shopping complex, where travellers can complete a collagen jigsaw puzzle to earn a spin at the in-store gachapon machine (which takes the shape of the new Extra-Firming jar), with gifts including a campaign-exclusive eco bag or a skincare sample.

For added impact, Clarins initiated a strategic communications approach featuring singer-celebrity Jojo Tang and key opinion leaders (KOLs) to help driving online engagement and convert traffic into offline action.

Plus, for the first time, the company collaborated with cdf on a ‘Celebrity One-Day Manager’ event, giving selected consumers a chance to engage with celebrities by purchasing designated products.

Additionally, a celebrity livestream, complemented by four additional livestreams featuring KOLs, took place daily throughout the Labor Day holiday period, allowing online viewers to virtually join the Clarins City Quest.

Clarins Extra Firming

The Mitracarpus Valley station at the Clarins boutique at cdf Sanya offers travellers the chance to take a turn on the gachapon machine to earn gifts.

The efficacy of the Extra-Firming franchise is chiefly due to a trio of pro-collagen key ingredients that are said to help fight the loss of skin firmness: Collagen Polypeptide, which supports collagen synthesis for improved skin resilience; Pecan Tree Extract, which helps protect collagen from degradation; and Mitracarpus Extract, which boosts skin elasticity for a smoother, more defined appearance.

The products come in an array of seven luxurious textures tailored to different needs and skin types, from comforting day and night creams to an SPF 15 protection, a treatment essence and a lightweight emulsion.

Furthermore, the range features Clarins’ first refillable cream jars crafted using materials fully made in Europe.

Formulations are made with 100% sustainably-sourced plant ingredients, with full traceability ensured through the Clarins T.R.U.S.T. platform.

The newly relaunched Extra-Firming range is one of four key lines from Clarins that’s available in GTR, alongside the Hydra-Essentiel, Multi-Active and Super-Restorative collections.

*Result is based on a consumer test on 109 women with all skin types who used the Extra-Firming Day Cream and 107 women with all skin types who used the Extra-Firming Night Cream. **Results based on a clinical evaluation by a dermatologist on 30 women after two months.
