China National Service Corporation (CNSC) has won an 8-year contract to operate three duty free stores covering 727sq m in the departures area of Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport’s Terminal 2.

The retailer already manages a duty free store in downtown Zhengzhou and believes the new contract will allow it to strengthen its omni-channel capabilities and ultimately improve the customer experience.

The airport, managed by the Henan Airport Group, is situated around 25km from the urban area of Zhengzhou and is described as an important gateway, with 27 international routes and counting.

‘KEY HUB IN CENTRAL CHINA’

“As China’s key transport hub in the central region, the passenger throughput of Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport increased sustainably in recent years with 29.12m in 2019, ranking 12th in China,” said CNSC.

DUAL CYCLE POLICY

“In the future, CNSC will continue to actively respond to the country’s ‘dual cycle’ strategic policy, and facilitate domestic consumption to achieve greater potential.

“At the same time, CNSC will also give full play to its comprehensive advantages, speed up the large-scale network deployment in major cities and ports across the country, and make contribution to China’s booming duty free industry.”
