CDFG’s Haikou International Duty Free City shopping complex will throw open its doors on 28 October.

China Duty Free Group (CDFG) has confirmed it will unveil its highly vaunted Haikou International Duty Free City shopping complex on the west coast of Haikou City on 28 October [scroll below for images].

Visitors will encounter in excess of 800 international and domestic brands, including many ‘firsts’, over 280,000sq m in what is being branded the ‘world’s largest single duty free shop’.

This is housed within a 930,000sq m footprint featuring six plots covering duty and tax free shops, offices, hotels and commercial space to satisfy the demands of business and leisure travellers alike.

Situated adjacent to the seaport, the Haikou International Duty Free City shopping complex will introduce thousands of domestic and international brands – many of which will be available to duty free – under the slogan ‘Duty Free, Free Plus’.

In a statement, CDFG says it ‘will continue to maintain its dominant position in the tourism retail market in Hainan’ with the opening of the mall.

As reported, CDFG maintains that the venue will create a ‘new benchmark’ globally, as the recovery of China’s domestic tourism market continues to gather pace.

“In the future, under the leadership of the parent company China Tourism Group, CDFG will further strengthen strategic cooperation with suppliers with an attitude of open communication, cooperation and innovation, practice the cultural concept of ‘integrity management, quality service’, and give full play to business planning,” read a statement.

“The core competitive advantages of design, brand investment, logistics and distribution, operation management, marketing and digitalisation, help the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port and international tourism consumption centre, and bring more diverse new tourism and shopping experiences to consumers.”
