DDFS and CEO Philip Eckles win prestigious retail awards

Delhi Duty Free Services CEO Philip Eckles was recognised for his achievements and leadership skills during his 30 years in the DF&TR industry.
Delhi Duty Free Services (DDFS) and its CEO Philip Eckles triumphed at the Retail Excellence and Corporate Governance Awards hosted by the Asia Africa GCC Retail & Shopping Centre Congress on 13 and 18 February. As part of the awards ‘Top global Retail Minds’ were also recognised.
The Global Council and Jury of the congress presented Eckles with an award in the ‘Top Global Retail Minds’ segment.
Eckles, who assumed the role of DDFS CEO in October 2018, was recognised for his achievements and leadership skills demonstrated during his 30 years in the DF&TR industry, 25 of which were with Aer Rianta International (ARI). During his time with ARI, he held a number of senior executive roles including Global Implementation Director & CEO of ARI Middle East based in Bahrain.
TRIPLE TRIUMPH
DDFS also claimed three awards at the ceremony, which was attended by senior corporate representatives from leading brands. The awards were for Best Practices in Corporate Governance and Ethics, Travel Retailer of the Year (India) and Best Retail Design: Arrival Duty Free Shops.
Eckles said: “This is a very proud moment for us and is testimony of continuous leadership for over eight years as the largest/leading travel retailer in the country. We will continue to innovate and deliver thought leadership and provide Indian travellers with a world class airport retailing experience.”
He added: “We are extremely honoured and encouraged to be recognised for our efforts in our corporate governance excellence, which is what we see as an essential, continuous journey for organisational success.”
