Delhi Duty Free customers benefit from duty free delivery to boarding gates

The new service is a ‘first’ for travel retail in India.

Passengers with more than 45 minutes to spare before boarding flights can have sought-after duty free items delivered to their gates courtesy of Delhi Duty Free Services.

A new on-demand service is available to any passenger at the international departure gates.

Customers can scan a QR code and browse from a catalogue of more than 5,000 products including liquor, perfume, cosmetics, skincare and souvenirs and choose to pay online or on receipt of the goods.


Launched in response to heightened demand for low-touch options, the service offers Citibank card holders an added 5% off and the chance to avail themselves of 10% cashback.

The mobile-friendly website has been optimised to provide a three-click service, from selection to checkout.

Customers receive notifications at every stage of the process, from booking, confirmation, despatch and delivery.

Delhi Duty Free confirms it will extend the service to Plaza Premium Lounge users.

“Delhi Duty Free intends to instil passenger confidence in international travel & extend service to improve passenger convenience,” said the travel retailer.

“With this service passengers can now spend more quality time at airport yet avail duty free shopping.”
