DFS presents its $68m Changi offering
By Doug Newhouse |

As reported, DFS Group has announced it is investing just over S$85m ($67.9m) in its ‘reinvention’ of Changi Airport’s L&T business.
This will comprise some 85,350sq ft in all four terminals with Singapore at the heart of the primary inspiration for the stores. Kevin Roche, Senior Vice President, Global Design at DFS (pictured far right next to DFS COO Michael Schriver) says the new shop designs lean on the country’s rich heritage, history and tradition, mixed in with modernity, architecture, lifestyle and the arts.
But in a video presentation last month he also emphasised that this is very much a functioning L&T operation, as he added: “At the end of the day this is about product and product is the hero and the brands are what the customers come to buy and experience.”
Roche then proceeded to give a very detailed presentation on DFS’ approach to the creation of the new impressive single and double storey duplex store designs and experiences that will be introduced into Changi Airport’s terminals by 2016.
TRBusiness captured most of the presentation on video, and this can be viewed below.
