Edrington has unveiled The Macallan 110 Proof, a new single malt Scotch whisky that offers a different interpretation of The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Years Old.

The release is launching this month in Taiwan, via an exclusive partnership with EverRich Duty Free. Retailing at NT$3,500/US$115, The Macallan 110 Proof will be available in The Macallan Boutique at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, and in selected duty free stores in Taiwan airports.

The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Years Old is matured in predominantly sherry seasoned European Oak casks and is known for its rich, complex flavours. By presenting this expression at a higher strength (55% AVB), The Macallan 110 Proof amplifies the signature notes of fruit, spice and oak, while revealing new layers of character.

This delivers a deeper, more immersive tasting experience, the brand maintains, adding a new dimension to a classic favourite.

Edrington reinterprets The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Years Old

The Macallan 110 Proof opens with aromas of dates, cherry compote, cinnamon, cacao nibs and dried orange slices. On the palate, rich oak and sultanas combine with stem ginger, star anise and mandarin, alongside notes of dark chocolate coated espresso beans.

The finish is described as long and warming, unfolding in layers of treacle toffee, mocha and sweet cinnamon.
