Elena Sorlini named to ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Board of Directors

Elena Sorlini oversaw the opening of Zayed International Airport (Abu Dhabi International Airport) Terminal A.
Abu Dhabi Airports Managing Director and CEO Elena Sorlini has been named on the ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID) Board of Directors.
In an announcement made via LinkedIn, Abu Dhabi Airports said the ‘prestigious appointment’ recognises Sorlini’s ‘outstanding leadership and industry expertise, underlining our commitment to shaping the future of aviation’.
“It is an honour and a privilege to join the ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Board,” read a statement from Sorlini.
“I fully recognise the responsibilities and expectations that come with this role and I am committed to fulfilling them to the best of my abilities. I look forward to working with my fellow peers in advancing our sector in this dynamic region.”
New President
Sorlini joins Ali Salim Al-Midfa, Chairman, Sharjah International Airport Authority; Cyril Girot, CEO, Cambodia Airports; Dato’ Mohd Izani Ghani, MD, Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad (MAHB); and Yam Kum Weng, CEO, Changi Airport Group on the newly elected Board of Directors.

The appointments, which run on a three-year term beginning 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027, were announced at the association’s recent board meeting hosted in recent days in Phnom Penh, Cambodia by Cambodia Airports/Vinci Airports.
SGK Kishore, Executive Director and Chief Innovation Officer, GMR Group, was elected as President of ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East, effective 1 January 2025, on a two-year term.
He will succeed Emmanuel Menanteau, Board Director of Cambodia Airports/Regional Director, Vinci Airports.
Kishore completes a new-look Executive Committee that also includes the following members: Mohamed Yousif Al-Binfalah, CEO, Bahrain Airport Company (First Vice President); Fred Lam, Chairman, Airport Authority Hong Kong (Second Vice President); Akihiko Tamura, President & CEO, Narita International Airport (Second Vice President); and Gert-Jan de Graaff, CEO, Brisbane Airport Corporation (Secretary Treasurer).
The two-year term of the Executive Committee will commence from from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2026.
ACI APAC & MID represents 132 members, operating 617 airports, across 46 countries and territories.
