For the sixth consecutive year, beauty brand Estée Lauder has partnered with China Duty Free Group (CDFG) to host a Starlight Rendezvous event in Hainan for VIPs.
Under the theme ‘Shining Stars, Beautiful Together’, the 22 December experiential travel retail event was inspired by Estée Lauder herself, who believed every woman can be beautiful
The activation took place at the central square at cdf China International Duty Free City. Innovative elements included the ‘Galaxy Train’ and the ‘Starlight Tree’. Festive red hues were used, alongside the brand’s signature blue.
Star-studded gift boxes and golden Pegasus figures added to the holiday spirit.
Estée Lauder said the event highlights its “steadfast dedication” to cultivating the travel retail market in Hainan.
Partners, including key customers, media and opinion leaders gathered for the Starlight Rendezvous event.
Special guests included Estée Lauder Global Ambassador Yang Mi and Estée Lauder Skincare Energy Ambassador Dylan Wang. They served as the evening’s ‘stars’ to usher in the festive spirit.
Alongside opinion leaders, they presented a live broadcast in-site, sharing the starlit experience with online audiences.
Key themes of the broadcast included celebrating the incoming new year, and paying tribute to “beauty and new aspirations”.
Estée Lauder festive Hainan pop-ups
During the event, Estée Lauder launched its limited-run Starlight Festive Store. The pop-ups featured prominently at cdf Haikou International and at cdf MOVA.
The retail spaces featured the star theme, along with a photo area and Hainan-exclusive retailtainment activity.
Customers who collected a starlight gift card at the event gained access to the Galaxy Train experience and received an Estée Lauder star sticker. They received an additional star when they took a photo by the Starlight Tree.
With two stickers, guests could access surprise brand gifts at the brand’s counter.
Those who made purchases offline were also able to enjoy priority access to the Galaxy Train and receive further surprise gifts.
Christmas gifting highlights included the Nighttime Essential Exclusive Set, unveiled at the event, featuring Perfectly Clean Multi-Action Foam Cleanser/Purifying Mask (150ml), Micro Essence (200ml), Advanced Night Repair Serum (50ml), Revitalizing Supreme Soft Crème (75ml), and Advanced Night Repair Eye Cream (15ml).
The brand also introduced the Estée Lauder Re-Nutriv Collection with SirtuinTM Skin Science Technology to reverse skin ageing.
Customers can explore the Estée Lauder starlight journey further through the brand’s WeChat mini programme Duty Free Social Circle.
