Travellers in downtown Taipei now have an added incentive to shop at one of the city’s leading duty free stores before departure.

Ever Rich Duty Free has struck a partnership with the government to enable travellers to be dropped via open-top double-decker sightseeing bus to the travel retailer’s downtown shop.

Customers can be picked up and dropped off at the Ever Rich shop on a route that also includes famous tourist spots such as the Taipei 101 international shopping centre, Xinyi District Songshou Road and MRT station exit 4.

Travellers can purchase at the Ever Rich downtown Shop 24 hours to 45 days prior to departure.

RESPONSE TO RISING TAIWANESE TRAVEL

The move is designed to increase shopping opportunities in light of rising outbound Taiwanese travel volumes, who either opt to shop instore or pre-order items for collection at the airport.

Bus-Everrich.Ever Rich’s downtown pre-order shopping facility caters predominantly to local Taiwanese and Chinese customers, plus others from Asia.

The six-storey building shaped in a butterfly wing style has a total floor space of 36,000sq m.

Four floors are dedicated to commercial services featuring duty free cosmetics, alcohol, tobacco, luxury, food and confectionery and local products.

The fifth floor is used as an art gallery and restaurant.
