A Hello Kitty-themed store leads the innovation from Ever Rich Duty Free at Taoyuan International Airport.

Ever Rich Duty Free has opened a Hello Kitty-themed shop, a LEGO store, a striking Taoli bookshop and a refreshed liquor offering at Taoyuan International Airport, Taipei, as data shows passenger numbers have reached 60% of pre-pandemic levels.

The new stores are part of a wider renovation programme at the airport, which aims to enhance the overall passenger experience.

The “highlight” of the refreshed offering, according to Ever Rich, is the new Hello Kitty-themed store located at C2 Gate in Terminal 2.

Offering over 1,000 products, including other Sanrio characters Pom Pom Purin, Kero Kero Keroppi and Badtz Maru, the store has everything a traveller needs to satisfy a love for “all things cute and charming”.

The assortment includes cookware, aprons, home and mobile phone accessories, and limited-edition airport souvenirs including Hello Kitty tea-flavoured pastries.

The new duty free LEGO store is the first in Taiwan.

A Hello Kitty-themed playground is located next to the shop, with a bus-shaped slide and interactive motion-sensor game zone available to entertain children pre-flight.

Ever Rich says it hopes the shop and playground will “bring joy and entertainment” to passengers passing through the airport.

‘Floor to ceiling’ books

Also new to Taoyuan Airport is the Taoli Bookstore situated at C1 Gate, Terminal 2.

The 6.3 metre-high space features striking floor-to-ceiling book displays, lit up by stunning 3.8m table lamps.

According to Ever Rich, the bookstore has become a “social media check-in spot” for travellers on their way through the airport.

Ever Rich has also recently opened Taiwan’s first certified LEGO duty free store. The Terminal 2 location is clad in bright yellow with a playful decor insight.

(L) The new bookstore features giant light fittings, while the spirits shop has a giant ceiling installation made with gold wine bottles.

In addition, a new liquor store has been unveiled at C3 Terminal 2. The shop’s offering spans a wide range of popular Taiwanese brands including Kinmen kaoliang and Kavalan single malt whisky, as well as celebrated international spirits.

The liquor space features a two-storey tall chandelier made from golden wine bottles, while brick-printed wallpaper evokes the atmosphere of a wine cellar.

Earlier this year, Ever Rich collaborated with local graffiti artist DEBE and whisky brand Omar to launch two exclusive bottlings to mark Lunar New Year.
