Grant appoints Alfred Liu

William Grant & Sons Distillers has announced the appointment of Alfred Liu as Regional Manager Travel Retail Asia Pacific. Liu was previously Montblanc's Regional Duty Free Manager, Asia Pacific.

At Montblanc Liu is credited with significantly expanding the brand's presence by developing over 30 boutiques and shop-in-shops in major travel retail locations across the Asia Pacific region. Prior to his Montblanc career, he served as General Sales Manager for Alfred Dunhill where he grew the business substantially in Hong Kong and Macau. Liu is based in Hong Kong and will report to Ylva Persson in London.
Commenting, Liu said: ‘I feel extremely proud to have the opportunity to serve one of the world's most respected distillers of spirits. I would like to make the William Grant portfolio the most popular spirits range in the Asian travel retail market with excellent visibility.’
Ylva Persson, Travel Retail Director, William Grant & Sons said: ‘It is fantastic to add somebody with the wealth of experience within the premium luxury category as well as the travel channel as Mr Liu. We are very proud having him join us and very much welcome him into the team. Mr Liu is replacing Kelvin Ng, who has been promoted to General Manager of our China operation. Mr Ng has contributed phenomenally over the years and created/grown our business double fold. I wish him all success in his new role in China.’
