Grant to show Balvenie 14yo at TFAP

William Grant & Sons says that the highlight on its stand at next month's TFWA Asia Pacific show will be its new travel retail exclusive Balvenie GoldenCask 14 Year Old single malt.

The company says that this new offering completes an 'award-winning portfolio' of Balvenie Single Malt Scotch Whiskies available to the Asia Pacific region, including The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year Old, The Balvenie Single Barrel 15 Year Old, The Balvenie PortWood 21 Year Old, The Balvenie Thirty and The Balvenie Cask 191 50 Year Old.

In a statement, the company said: ‘Visitors to the William Grant & Sons stand will be able taste for themselves the unique and award-winning The Balvenie GoldenCask 14 Year Old, which was matured first in traditional oak whisky casks before finishing in Caribbean rum casks. This gives the malt a fruity sweetness and subtle spice, which is quite different to anything else available. Presented in the traditional Balvenie tube, with an ABV of 47.5%, the introduction is being supported by tastings in airports.’

The company says that the Asia Pacific region is special for The Balvenie, with the family-owned Speyside distiller releasing just 151 bottles of The Balvenie 1964 Single Malt Scotch Whisky exclusively for Sky Connection at Hong Kong International Airport.

In addition, 2008 also saw a single cask of rare 1975 vintage bottled exclusively for Taiwanese whisky enthusiasts.

The company can be found on stand J2 at next month's TFWA Singapore Asia Pacific show in the Suntec exhibition centre from May 11 to 14.
