Glyn Williams, former Sydney Airport, General Manager, Retail, has been appointed Harding Retail, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific.

Harding Retail has appointed Glyn Williams as Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific for the Australian and Asian division of the company.

According to the company, Williams will advance Harding Retail’s proposition, driving growth and innovation within the Australian and Asia market, where the company has operated for 10 years.

Williams, who joins a 55-strong team in Sydney and the United Kingdom, left his role of Sydney Airport, General Manager, Retail in January, having joined the airport in 2014.

PIVOTAL ROLE

During his time at SYD, he played a key role in securing the airport’s duty free contract with Heinemann Asia Pacific, revamping the retail offer, creating a Terminal 1 luxury precinct and launching a number of first to Australia/first to airport brands.

Prior to working at Sydney Airport, Williams held senior positions at shopping centre companies Westfield and Dexus.

James Prescott, Managing Director, Harding Retail said: “I am delighted to welcome Glyn to the Harding team, both in Australia and onto the executive team. Glyn’s passion for innovation and thinking outside the box make him the perfect strategic fit for the company and will further strengthen our talented cruise retail team.”

Williams added: “Having kept a close eye on Harding Retail’s way of working —their thirst to push retail boundaries and deliver amazing shopping experiences —the move is a natural one. Thriving on delivering ‘firsts’, I’m looking forward to getting settled in Sydney and making a tangible difference within Harding.”
