Carnival Cruise Line has partnered with Heinemann Asia Pacific to deliver a ‘state-of-the-art’ duty free store onboard vessel Carnival Spirit from 25 June.

Heinemann Asia Pacific, in partnership with subsidiary Heinemann Australia, will operate a mixture of local and global brands such as Seafolly, Quay Australia, Swarovski, Swatch, Lacoste and Clinique aimed at Carnival’s Australian guests.

As reported, Heinemann has already tasted success with Carnival in the US since securing retail concessions onboard Carnival Fantasy, Carnival Ecstasy and Carnival Liberty in January.

In addition to the duty free offer, Spirit will receive new family-friendly entertainment options, including new spaces for children and teenagers.

‘EXCITING TIME’ TO CRUISE

Heinemann’s Carnival retail operations now span more than 1,220sq m across the four vessels, where it will operate all categories except fine jewellery.

“We are thrilled to embark on this new partnership with Carnival Cruise Line, especially at such an exciting time in the cruising market,” says Marvin von Plato, CEO of Heinemann Asia Pacific.

“Combining our retail and logistics management experience with our expertise in the Australian market, we look forward to providing a world-class shopping experience onboard for Carnival guests.”

Heinemann has been working on curating duty free offers for the Australian cruise market, with a particular focus on cosmetics, liquor and local brands.

“We’re pleased to continue our excellent relationship with Gebr. Heinemann with this enhancement of the retail experience aboard Carnival Spirit following its extensive dry dock,” said William Butler, Vice President of Retail Services, Carnival Cruise Line.

“The retail experience at Carnival continues to evolve with sought-after brands and exciting new spaces and we’re delighted to work with Gebr. Heinemann in providing our guests with the widest variety of retail choices at sea.”

Once Spirit returns to its home port of Sydney on 25 June, 2018, it will resume year-round departures from Australia.
