Hilfiger to showcase at TFAP

By Doug Newhouse |

As part of its recent entry into the travel retail business, the Tommy Hilfiger Group reports that it will participate at the TFAP show in Singapore for the first time this month, with a 40sq m booth (H4) designed to replicate a Tommy Hilfiger travel retail shop.

The booth will feature a display of Tommy Hilfiger Spring/Summer 2011 apparel and accessories ‘appropriate for the travel retail market’.

Earlier this year, the Tommy Hilfiger Group announced the establishment of a Global Duty Free & Travel Retail Division. This new business unit was created to address the specific needs of the growing travel retail channel and to provide dedicated resources and a focused team to explore tax free opportunities in airports, downtowns and via airline partnerships.

The new division is headed by Briac Pinault, Vice President, Global Duty Free and Travel Retail who is based in Amsterdam.

As the company says, Pinault is ‘a seasoned travel and fashion retail executive’, who has previously worked with other travel retail players, including Giorgio Armani Spa, Hugo Boss AG, BPI and YSL Beaute.
