Hong Kong Airport passenger traffic up 2.5% to 37.8 million in first half 2019
By Luke Barras-hill |
Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) carried 37.8m passengers from January to June (+2.5%) year-on-year, according to Airport Authority Hong Kong.
The operator says passenger traffic was driven by strong growth in transfer and transit traffic. In June, passenger traffic lifted by 2.1% to 6.3m, largely supported by growth of the same, with notable increases in volumes to and from Japan, Europe and Southeast Asia.
On a 12-month rolling basis, passenger traffic grew by 2.1% to 75.6m.
Watch out for the August Top 10 Airports report for an analysis of HKIA’s duty free performance.
