Impressive upgrades reveal at CNSC Sanya International Duty Free Plaza

China National Service Corporation (CNSC) today (1 October) showcased its new look at the Sanya International Duty Free Plaza in Hainan, TRBusiness can report.
Devised over 40,000sq m, the shopping mall’s new look was devised by French design house Malherbe in a concept underpinned by the theme ‘A Journey to the Coast’, influenced by Hainan’s sunny seashore (see below image gallery).
As reported, the Sanya International Duty Free Plaza operated by CNSC – a subsidiary of China National Pharmaceutical Group – opened its first phase in December and has struck agreements to date with more than 400 global brands and heavyweight luxury, beauty and wines & spirits groups such as LVMH, Kering, Richemont, Pernod Ricard, The Estée Lauder Companies, L’Oréal and Shiseido.
DYSON DEBUT IN HAINAN
The shopping complex is located at Hongzhou Square in downtown Sanya adjacent to the Sanya Yacht Marina and the Phoenix Island Central Business District.
In documents seen by TRBusiness, the undulating facade and bold interior concept at CNSC Sanya International Duty Free Plaza is focused towards creating ‘a brand new tourism ecosystem combining premium duty free shopping, tour visiting, entertainment and F&B’.
New brands being onboarded include the likes of Dior, Helena Rubinstein, Armani, Tom Ford, Yves Saint Laurent, Dyson, Montblanc, Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC and Chopard.
Dyson will make its debut in Hainan’s offshore duty free market, while Luc Belaire and Versace will respectively launch their first pop-ups in Hainan.

Covering 40,000 square metres, the new look of CNSC Sanya International Duty Free Plaza has been fashioned by leading French design house Malherbe.
CNSC’s parent Sinopharm accrued sales revenue of RMB 500,000 million/US$77,278.2 million in 2020 and ranks in 109th position in the Fortune Global 500 list of firms.
Its influence pervades the shopping complex, which combines duty free and healthcare concepts featuring healthy and functional foods, nourishing products, medical equipment, massage devices, electric toothbrushes and other categories.
CNSC’s network consists of 28 duty free boutiques in 18 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China, as well as in Japan and Dubai.
Alongside its offshore duty free shopping complex in Sanya, Hainan, the company runs 12 downtown duty free stores located in China’s first and second tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing and Chongqing.
In addition, CNSC has 13 duty free stores in airports, borders and seaports, including in major cities like Chongqing, Nanjing, Guiyang and national key borders such as Pingxiang Friendship Pass and Heihe.
