Incheon Airport earns sustainability plaudits for eleventh year in a row

Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) has been named as the number one company in the Korea Sustainability Index (KSI) for the eleventh consecutive year.
The airport gained the accolade at the ‘2020 Korea Sustainability Competition’ held earlier this month at the Lotte Hotel in Seoul.
KSI draws opinions from around 30,000 stakeholders, including consumers, on the sustainable efforts of 47 leading domestic industries.
It is based on ISO 26000, an authoritative, international indicator of social responsibility standards.
IIAC received high scores for its customer-tailored service provision, climate change response and fair trade.
Incheon International Airport Corporation President Nam-soo Lim said: “We have been selected as the number one company in the sustainability index for 11 consecutive years despite the changes in the internal and external environment caused by Corona 19. I will try to lead and spread social values.”
To mitigate against the damage caused by Covid-19, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) is taking steps to minimise job losses across the airport ecosystem and local economy and providing stability funding for organisations.
