Jaime Partners with Duty Free City
By Doug Newhouse |
Jaime Partners project management services has confirmed that the 14,000sq ft Duty Free City San Ysidro store is on schedule to open in late July.
The company serves as Duty Free City’s representative and construction manager advisors, working in tandem with Miami-based Fine Sources Design.
As already extensively reported, Duty Free City in San Ysidro is the first opening of a chain of 25 new retail openings along the US/Mexico and US/Canada borders, although the true owners of this business have yet to reveal themselves.
Jaime Partners has been working with Duty Free City’s corporate management in Miami on the project, providing cost estimation services, construction reviews, value engineering and serving as the owner’s West Coast representatives.
VERY TIMELY OPENING
As Alfredo Jaime, Partner and co-founder of the company says, the San Ysidro opening is particularly timely considering the much-anticipated multi-million dollar US-Mexican border expansion project is set to be completed in 2016.
He said: “This project is going to attract a lot of traffic. Duty Free City is working hard to attract the attention of the millions of people that cross into Mexico from this crossing every year. As the busiest land border crossing in the US, San Ysidro is a great kick off to their nationwide expansion and we couldn’t be happier to be a part of it.”
As extensively reported by TRBusiness, Duty Free City plans to offer a premier customer service experience which includes hair and nail services, a vino lounge, cigar lounge and City Café serving sandwiches and coffee.
Personal shoppers will be on-hand to help serve as in-house experts for consumers and there will also be an area for children’s activities and a tasting table for wine with selections from over 350 wineries.
