By Administrator |
The India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) opened a new duty free arrivals shop selling wines and spirits at Coimbatore Airport at a ceremony held last week which was attended by various VIPs.
According to reports, the new store will expand its range of products beyond wines and spirits at the location in future.
Currently, ITDC operates duty free airport business solely at the Indian airports of Goa and Coimbatore, having lost 38 of its duty free shops in new tenders in recent years and only recently it indicated that it now plans to make a comeback into duty free airport retailing [TREND, July 17 2009].
