Johnnie Walker whiskies come alive on Shenzhen DF WeChat Mini Program

Diageo Global Travel has partnered with Shenzhen Duty Free to unveil a first-of-a-kind whisky e-boutique on the Times DF Haikou Mission Hills WEChat Mini Program.

Johnnie Walker takes centre stage once again on this latest whisky e-boutique, which is now live for Hainan visitors to browse and purchase items for pre-order, including home delivery.

As reported in October, Diageo teamed up with DFS and Inflyter to showcase Johnnie Walker expressions via a dedicated whisky e-boutique in locations across North America.

Importantly though, this is the first Diageo Global Travel brand boutique hosted via WeChat’s Mini Program.

At the e-boutique, shoppers can explore a range of rare and unique whiskies, including a range of exclusive offerings and collections.

Travellers can instantly access the e-boutique on WeChat by scanning a QR Code on the Times DF Haikou Mission Hills Mini Program.

Exclusive sets from hero brand Johnnie Walker are available to discover and purchase, including the world-renowned Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

In addition, luxury sets are available to buy from Johnnie Walker Blue Label Series of 3 Gods – a three-bottle collection engraved with gold calligraphy embodying the gods believed to bestow fortune, prosperity and longevity.

Accompanying is the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Series of 5 Gods, produced in celebration of Lunar New Year, as well as the Set of 12 Zodiac Collection.

This is engraved with the 12 animals from the Chinese Zodiac, marrying Scotch’s rich heritage with ancient Chinese tradition.

Elsewhere, four recommended Single Malt whiskies are proudly displayed: The Singleton, Mortlach, Lagavulin and Talisker, available to discover via dedicated brand pages animated through product descriptions and attractive imagery.

The whisky e-boutique strengthens the strong partnership between Diageo Global Travel and Shenzhen Duty Free following the recent opening of the Johnnie Walker boutique in Haikou, Hainan, the grand opening of which took place in Haikou Mission Hills on 30 October.

Sandra Tassilly, Head of Commercial – APAC and MENA at Diageo Global Travel, said: “I am delighted that in conjunction with Shenzhen Duty Free, Diageo Global Travel has been able to collaborate for a second time in the launch of a whisky e-boutique, following on from the successful launch of a whisky boutique in Hainan.

“We’re proud to have elevated the shopping experience for travellers, providing them with an enjoyable and seamless way to make purchases and explore the category.”

Xie Wenchun, Vice President of Shenzhen Duty Free Group, added: “I am incredibly proud that Shenzhen Duty Free Group has partnered with Diageo on the launch of our first whisky e-boutique available for travellers to browse and make purchases from world-leading brands.

“We are thrilled to provide our customers with an engaging and experience-led way to shop. Through the platform, hosted on Times DF Haikou Mission Hills WeChat Mini Program, visitors are offered a simple yet exciting way to purchase whisky from Diageo’s top-selling whisky portfolio.”
