AirAsia’s e-commerce marketplace Ourshop has extended its local footprint in Malaysia via a new partnership with J&S Group,
The alliance offers international and domestic passengers at Subang SkyPark, Penang International Airport and Langkawi International Airport to take advantage of exclusive travel retail purchases via ourshop.com and click- and-collect services.
J&S Group acts as a retailer and distributor for a number of categories such as fragrances, confectionery, luggage and travel accessories.
THREE MORE POS
It already boasts a big retail presence at Subang Skypark, operating a variety of stores including Jet Set Go, Chocolate Box and Flamenco.
J&S Group runs Watch Stars and Chocolate Box at Penang International and a luggage outlet at Langkawi International.
The latest deal adds three more airports to Ourshop’s growing menu of collection points.
Raj Daswani, Chief Merchant Officer, Ourshop said: “We are pleased to partner with J&S Group as Ourshop is on a fast-growing journey to expand our footprint in the country and further strengthen our position in the travel retail market beyond our traditional AirAsia passengers to passengers from other airlines, thus expanding our current footprint to Subang Skypark.
“Our partnership with J&S Group proves that we can be a marketplace for all travellers and aligns with our strategies to support more local businesses by providing a platform to market their products online and provide a unique shopping experience for travellers. This partnership also comes at the right time as we are able to leverage on Visit Malaysia 2020.”
Currently, travellers can collect their purchases from Eraman Duty Free shops at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA 2); Aelia Duty Free at Melbourne’s Avalon Airport; Lagardère Hong Kong at Hong Kong International Airport; Plaza Bali at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport; Manila T3 International Terminal in the Philippines; and selected airports in India.
Passengers can also shop online and collect their products onboard AirAsia flights using the inflight delivery option.
J&S Group Managing Director Suraj Menon added: “We see so much opportunity with Ourshop as it increases the distribution and provides greater reach to our customers. Now travellers have the convenience to shop online through ourshop.com and at the same time experience the store offline when they collect the items. We hope this partnership will continue to grow and create added value in the long-term for travellers through these airports.”
Ourshop has spread its wings since it became a single entity in June and, as revealed by TRBusiness in December, the firm is now overseeing AirAsia’s inflight duty free team.
