Kansai Airports is committed to developing existing shops and restaurants.

Kansai Airports is to open a Kix Duty Free Central store in the Terminal 1 international post-security area at Kansai International Airport (KIX) on 18 December 2020.

The shop is designed to meet the diverse needs of domestic and international customers. It will offer prestige cosmetics and perfumes which will be appearing in Japanese airport duty free and at KIX for the first time.

Luxury and highly sought-after liquors from around the world will be available in-store. Perfumes and cosmetics brands include Aveda, Bobbi Brown, Hermès, Jo Malone London, Le Labo, Origins, Penharigons and Tom Ford Beauty.

Liquor labels include Hennessy, Louis XIII, Martell and Rémy Martin. Oakley and Ray Ban will be among the sunglasses brands on offer.

Meanwhile, a Cocokara Fine drug store will open within Kix Duty Free Central. This will provide more convenience for passengers departing from the north and south area.

Additionally, the previous pick-up points for pre-order items at the Kix Duty Free main shop (North and South) will be consolidated into one dedicated pick-up counter. This will be installed within Kix Duty Free Central.

SMOOTH PRE-ORDER PICK-UP COLLECTION

Kansai Airports said: “With this, customers can smoothly pick-up pre-order items without queuing up at the checkout, which will allow more effective use of time before departure.

The Kix Duty Free Central store is due to open on 18 December 2020 and will offer prestige cosmetics and perfumes.

“Kansai Airports is committed to developing exciting shops and restaurants at the airports to provide our customers with an enjoyable and comfortable travel experience.”

In other news, Kansai Airports has announced the opening of a new Ishiya concept store in the T1 International post-security area at Kix.

Founded in 1947, Ishiya is a Hokkaido-based confectionery maker renowned for its Shiroi Koibito cookie.

Shiroi Koibito soft-serve ice cream and baked products will be among the products available in the new Ishiya store.

Designed under the theme ‘Advanced Ishiya’, the store, which will also open on 18 December, offers a selection of products from Ishiya and its Hokkaido brand. The Hokkaido brand was established in 2017 and includes various sweets including the popular Saqu Langue De Chat.

In addition to selling baked products among other items, Shiroi Koibito soft-serve ice cream will be available in-store.

As reported earlier this year, Kansai Airports is hoping to complete the revamp of KIX Terminal 1 by 2025, in time for the Osaka Kansai Expo. The renovation project, which was announced in December 2019, will be the first major revamp since the airport opened in 1994.
