Kansai duty free sales rise

By Administrator |

Osaka International Airport operator Kansai International Airport Company (KIAC) has reported a strong contribution from its duty free shops in its first half results to September end.

KIAC says that the first six months of its financial year sales revenue rose to a total of Y.53,062m ($451m), a rise of 0.5% on the previous year.
The airport company added that its operating profit increased by 5% over the same period to Y.14,651m ($124.5m).
KIAC said that good contributions came from its duty free shops and also from a programme of cost cutting, but fees from the aeronautical side of the company fell because of airlines choosing to fly smaller aircraft from the airport.
