The transition between retailers at Christchurch Airport will take place in November at the end of the busy peak season.

Lagardère Travel Retail has been awarded a mini master concession at Christchurch International Airport.

The previous incumbent was JR/Duty Free which had been operating the concession since July 2010. The concession was subsequently extended in 2015 for a further eight years, but put to tender last year.

The new eight-year concession includes six concepts. These are Aelia Duty Free arrivals and departures shops, a Relay store, confectionery outlet, destination store, natural fibre shop and bar and café in departures.

Covering 1,928sq m of retail space and 544sq m in arrivals, the new offerings showcase the best of the South Island of New Zealand, together with the best global brands, according to the company.
