Lagardère TR opens Sandro and Maje boutiques in HTDF Sanya Duty Free mall

Lagardère Travel Retail has opened a 165sq m Sandro boutique in the HTDF Sanya mall in downtown Sanya.

Lagardère Travel Retail has partnered with SMCP Group to open Sandro and Maje boutiques in the HTDF Sanya Duty Free mall in downtown Sanya.

Both brands are being introduced in Hainan for the first time in the 30,000sq m downtown mall which was opened in partnership with Hainan Tourism Investment Development at the end of last year.

The introduction of the brands in Hainan follows the travel retail launch of Sandro and Maje in mainland Chinese airports last year.

The two boutiques, spanning 165sq m and 155sq m offer a full range of ready-to-wear products and accessories.

Lagardère says the openings add to its luxury footprint of over 140 doors in China travel retail and support the local government’s strategy of diversifying Hainan’s brand offer and appealing to a broader consumer base.

NEW LAUNCHES IN HAINAN

Since partnering with the Hainan Tourism Investment Development, Lagardère has brought almost 300 brands to the Hainan duty free market, over a dozen of which are new launches on the island. Further exclusive launches are planned in the coming months.

The 155sq m Maje boutique offers a full range of ready-to-wear products and accessories.

Eudes Fabre, CEO for North Asia at Lagardere Travel Retail said: “Launching Sandro and Maje for the first time in Hainan in partnership with SCMP Group reflects our ambition to broaden the appeal of off-shore duty free shopping in Hainan and meet the expectations of an increasingly sophisticated customer base.

“To sustain rapid growth over time the market in Hainan we will need to continue introducing new brands across categories and price points. We are pleased to contribute our global merchandizing and operational expertise to the flourishing of Hainan’s duty free market.”
