Lotte accelerates recovery plans with the opening of new Pomellato boutique

By Charlotte Turner |

Lotte Duty Free continues to rebound from the impacts of the pandemic with the opening of its first Pomellato Italian jewellery boutique on the 11th floor of the retailer’s Myeongdong Main Store in Korea.

The new store forms part of Lotte Duty Free’s strategy to bolster its portfolio of international luxury brands in jewellery as well as in other categories, such as beauty.

Pomellato, founded by Pino Rabolini in Milan in 1967 and now part of the Kering Group, is well known in Europe, North America, and Japan for its Milanese craftsmanship. The new store showcases three collections – Nudo, Catene and Iconica – which all serve to accentuate the beauty of colourful gemstones, for which the brand is also well known.

BUOYANT WATCHES AND JEWELLERY SALES

Iconica, which was created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Pomellato, features ‘sensual designs’ in rose gold.

While Lotte reports a rise in watches and jewellery sales of +35% in 2021, the leading Korean retailer expects the introduction of Pomellato to attract sales from customers looking for ‘uniquely designed jewellery’ in the coming years.

Lotte Duty Free has already strengthened its cosmetics portfolio in recent months with the expansion of Valmont, Tatcha and Charlotte Tilbury.

Head of Lotte Duty Free’s Product Division, Lee Seung-guk, insists the company has received high praise for attracting brands such as Boucheron, Chaumet, and Fred to its stores. “We will continue to try our best to introduce a variety of jewellery products to customers.”
