Lotte and Shilla support local labels at Incheon
By Kevin Rozario |
Incheon’s biggest duty free and travel retail operators have joined forces with Korea’s tourism authority to launch a retail area dedicated to Korean brands at Incheon Airport.
Lotte Duty Free and Shilla Duty- Free – together with the Korea Tourism Organization and the airport’s operator, Incheon International Airport Corporation – have opened shops covering an area of 295sq m where 30 popular national brands including MCM, J.estina, Hazzys and Samsung Cuckoo are being sold.
IIAC says that the group of shops specialising in these and other Korean brands will support the country’s finest domestic brands and provide small and medium enterprises (SMEs) access to a wider public.
IIAC President and CEO CW Lee comments: “Considering that Incheon is a gateway to Korea, opening these shops at the airport will provide a good opportunity to display excellent Korean domestic brands to global passengers and promote sales. We hope this also creates chances of business expansion overseas.”
