There will also be various online events, such as an instant discount of up to 20,000 won with Kakao Pay and special coupons for college and graduate students about to enter summer vacation.
Lotte Duty Free is holding a shopping festival called ‘Duty Free Day’ from July 18 to August 17, comprising a large-scale online and offline discount promotion to coincide with the summer vacation season.
At Lotte Duty Free’s Myeongdong Main Store, World Tower Store, Busan Store, and Jeju Store, famous brands such as Longchamp, Coach, and Swarovski will be sold up to 80% off.
In addition, those purchasing domestic cosmetics and some food brands will receive a gift according to the purchase amount.
Lotte Internet Duty Free also offers 30 carefully selected brands, including Lancome, Jill Stuart, Penhaligon’s, Maison Kitsune, Ami, and Blackmores, at up to 70% off.
During the event, in addition to the discounted brands, there will also be a ‘weekend time sale’ every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with up to 60% off.
Lotte Duty Free Myeongdong Main Store, World Tower Store, Busan Store, and Jeju Store will present LDF PAY worth up to 1.51 million won based on the purchase amount to customers who purchase fashion, watch, and jewelry category products until August 31.
LDF PAY
In addition, a double gift event will be held where customers can receive up to 1.69 million won of LDF PAY depending on the card used for weekend shopping on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
In addition, customers who purchase over $150 in cosmetics, perfume, eyewear, food, and alcohol categories by July 31st will receive 20,000 won in LDF PAY that can be used on the same day.
When visiting Lotte Duty Free Myeongdong Main Store, World Tower Store, and Busan Store from 90 days before departure, customers can receive up to 40,000 won in PRE LDF PAY that can be used when purchasing over $100.
Prizes offered
In addition to the discount event, Lotte Duty Free is also holding travel gift certificate and accommodation voucher events both online and offline.
Customers who spend over $300 at Lotte Duty Free downtown stores by August 31 will have the opportunity to win a round-trip ticket to Tokyo, Japan and a discount coupon that can be used at Lotte Duty Free Ginza.
Among the customers who entered the travel prize draw, three people will be selected to win a round-trip ticket to Tokyo, Japan (two tickets) and special shopping benefits at Lotte Duty Free Ginza.
Lotte Internet Duty Free is holding a ‘Kakao Overseas Travel All Pass’ giveaway event with Kakao Pay. Participation is dependent upon spending over 50,000 won with Kakao Pay at Lotte Internet Duty Free.
One winner will be given a stay at The Middle House Studio 60 in Shanghai (two nights) and three winners will be given a stay at 137 Pillars One Bedroom Residence in Bangkok, Thailand (two nights).
A Lotte Duty Free official said: “We have prepared a variety of events for customers preparing to travel during the peak summer vacation season,” and “We will work harder to add the joy of a bargain and the pleasure of shopping to the excitement of traveling.”
Surge in store reopening
Lotte Duty Free is attracting various brands that are in line with the trend to increase customer satisfaction. Since becoming the first and only duty free shop in Korea to attract Boucheron in 2018, Lotte Duty Free has been operating offline stores in the Myeongdong main store and Jeju store, receiving a steady response from domestic and foreign customers.
In addition, Lotte Duty Free reopened the Boucheron store in its Myeongdong main store last May, and on July 1, the Italian high-end jewelry brand Damiani opened a store in its Busan store.
This is the first time that Damiani has opened a store in a non-metropolitan duty-free shop. In addition, sales of duty-free brands operated exclusively by the company, such as Chaumet, Fred, and Messica, are also showing a favorable trend.
Lotte Duty Free said it plans to continue to attract global high-end brands to provide customers with differentiated shopping experiences.
