Lotte Duty Free launches trio of vegan cosmetics on LDF Buy online mall

By Luke Barras-hill |

Lotte Duty Free has introduced vegan cosmetics products onto its LDF Buy online mall.

Grown Alchemist and Hunter Lab are available to buy via the Lotte platform, an online direct purchasing site for overseas goods launched last year, with Miranda Kerr founded brand Kora Organics due to onboard later this month.

To mark the inauguration of the brands, which use eco-friendly ingredients and are not tested on animals, Lotte is hosting a number of events until the 15 May,

These include a customer raffle of nutraceuticals and discounts of up to 20% on vegan-branded products.

These accompany various other activities such as discounts of up to 60% to celebrate ‘Family Month’ in May; 10% off payments exceeding KRW 120,000/$94 for Lotte Card holders by 15 May; and a KRW 5,000 discount to customers who spend more than KRW 60,000 on their first purchase using the LDF Buy app by the end of this year.

Lotte says interest in vegan products has grown since the pandemic, as more consumers become socially conscious to the impact on the environment and the protection of animals.

The South Korean duty free giant opened online mall LDF Buy in June 2021, with Lotte Duty Free Australia responsible for sourcing and selling goods.

The items are not duty free, enabling customers to purchase directly online without having to leave the country and can be retrieved within an average of seven days.

In a statement, Lotte said LDF Buy’s Q1 sales continue to grow ‘remarkably’, up approximately 80% from the previous quarter.
