Lotte Duty Free teamed up with Moët Hennessy to host an exclusive Champagne-pairing event for top-tier customers, strengthening its premium liquor credentials as the year-end gifting and party season approaches.

The Prestige Champagne Pairing Tasting took place on 14 November at the Pierre Gagnaire Bar at Lotte Hotel Seoul, welcoming around 20 of the retailer’s highest-tier VIPs alongside leading liquor influencers. The evening offered a curated introduction to Moët Hennessy’s portfolio of prestige maisons, reinforcing what the retailer described as the brand’s position at the pinnacle of global luxury drinks culture.

Guests sampled seven Champagnes from five major houses, including Armand de Brignac, Dom Pérignon, Krug and Veuve Clicquot. According to Lotte Duty Free, Armand de Brignac Blanc de Blancs – a 100% Chardonnay cuvée – drew particular praise for its delicate and lively profile. Each pour was paired with a bespoke menu created by the Lotte Hotel Seoul culinary team to elevate the tasting experience.

Moët Hennessy’s Brand Education Manager led guided sessions throughout the evening, introducing the characteristics of each cuvée and sharing insights into professional Champagne etiquette – an element Lotte Duty Free said enhanced customer engagement and appreciation.

Lim Hyung-il, Head of the Product Division at Lotte Duty Free, said the event was designed “exclusively for Lotte Duty Free VIP customers”, adding that the collaboration with Moët Hennessy allowed the retailer to “showcase the essence of French prestige Champagne”. He noted that Lotte Duty Free plans to continue deepening partnerships with leading luxury brands to broaden its premium customer experience.
