Lotte has opened a new store exclusively for the Dutch premium childcare product brand ‘Bugaboo’.

Lotte Duty Free CEO Kim Dong-ha announced that it has expanded its lineup of industry-leading brands in various categories such as childcare products, beauty devices, and food, which it hopes will provide a ‘differentiated’ shopping experience with premium childcare products and beauty devices.

Lotte noted as the birth rate has risen nationwide in Korea, the demand for premium childcare products has increased; Lotte Duty Free’s domestic sales of childcare products in the first half of this year increased by about 44% compared to the same period last year.

Officially launched on the 15th July, Bugaboo’s domestic childcare products are marketed as combining comfort and durability, with product ranges spanning strollers, high chairs, and folding baby chairs.

In particular, the new product ‘Bugaboo Butterfly 2’ can be carried on board with ultra-compact folding technology that can be folded and unfolded in one second, and its compact size maximises mobility and storage convenience.

To commemorate Bugaboo’s exclusive entry into the store, Lotte Duty Free is holding a special discount event.

Customers can purchase Bugaboo strollers at a discount compared to the domestic market price, and noted the product is receiving a warm response, with the product quickly selling out at the start of the event.

In addition, at Lotte Duty Free, consumers can find the French luxury baby brand ‘Atelier Choux’, which is famous for its blankets, and the famous baby carrier brand ‘Ergobaby’.

Both brands are highly popular in the childcare products market for their luxurious designs and functionality, respectively.

In addition, Lotte Duty Free said it is providing a differentiated shopping experience by operating ‘Botem’, a company specialising in beauty devices and medical devices.

Its hero product, The Alface series, can be purchased through exclusive discount coupons and various benefits unique to duty- ree stores, and as of the first half of this year, it ranked first in sales in the beauty equipment and tools category of Lotte Duty Free.

Lotte Duty Free Busan Branch

Lotte Duty Free Busan opened its ‘Busan K-Specialty Editing Shop’ in June, introducing several new brands boasting original concepts and premium quality.

The newly opened ‘Yiayia and Friends’ is a premium food brand that reinterprets traditional Greek ingredients with a modern sensibility, and is gaining popularity by offering customers a variety of products such as top-quality olive oil, organic lemon juice, and tumblers.

In addition, ‘Praebee’ offers natural raw honey in three flavours, and also sells honey sticks and propolis, expanding the range of options for purchasing duty free food.

Meanwhile, Lotte Duty Free has been operating a pop-up store showcasing Busan’s representative tourist souvenirs in cooperation with the Busan Tourism Organization, as of July 30.

This pop-up store was planned to support the expansion of local small and medium-sized enterprises and introduce products that contain Busan’s characteristics.

At the pop-up store can be found 300 types of products from 30 brands that capture the unique charm of Busan, and Lotte has plans to expand sales online in the future.

An official from Lotte Duty Free said: “We plan to continue to discover premium brands and expand our exclusively operated brands to provide customers with a differentiated shopping experience.

We will continue to further enhance the value of duty-free shopping through cooperation with various domestic and foreign brands.”
