Retailer Lotte Duty Free has confirmed it is readying to open new airport stores at the expanded Changi Terminal 2 from the end of this year.
A spokesperson confirmed to TRBusiness that the T2 North Wing openings would continue into 2024.
Engineering works at the terminal were completed on the North Wing in September 2023. Changi said the works boosted the airport’s capacity to 90 million passengers per year.
Passenger traffic has reached around 87% of 2019 levels.
The T2 expansion project has added around 15,500sqm to the terminal buildings. The initial South Wing work was completed back in May 2022.
It is expected that full operations, including across retail and food and beverage, will commence from November 2023.
Eight of of 10 units in T2 are already open. New-to-Changi brands include Swee Choon milk tea gelato, Kenangan Coffee, from Indonesia, and Chagee tea.
The Gourmet Garden area offers views of the apron through floor-to-ceiling windows, offering food from brands including GOPIZZA, Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu and Chef Wei HK Cheong Fun.
Stores already open include luxury Italian jeweller, Pomellato, and Old Seng Choong, which offers heritage recipes and baked goods from Singapore.

Work in the terminal also includes an updated and expanded departure hall with automatic check-in and bag drop, automated special assistance lanes, and enhanced immigration halls.
More efficient building equipment has been installed, too. A new chiller plant cuts energy consumption by 30%, while baggage handling has been thoroughly updated.
T2’s new design draws from nature, with natural materials used in cladding and flooring. Greens hughes are used alongside an array of plants to foster a sense of tranquillity.

Airlines operating at T2 include Lufthansa, Swiss, Air Japan, and some Singapore Airlines flights.
“We extend our deep gratitude to the Ministry of Transport, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and Immigration & Checkpoints Authority, as well as other agencies and partners for their support toward the T2 Expansion Project,” said Tan Lye Teck, Changi Airport Group’s Programme Director for the Terminal 2 Expansion Project.
“We also greatly appreciate the entire airport community for their close collaboration and steadfast partnership.
“We commit to delivering exceptional customer service and look forward to taking the passenger experience to new heights with the refreshed T2.”
Changi Airport has released more information about its perfumes and cosmetics contract extension with The Shilla Duty Free. The retailer will now operate the concession for an extra four years to March 2028.
