Korean travel retailer Lotte Duty Free is celebrating the Lunar New Year, and the Spring Festival Golden Week holiday (which is running from 28 January to 4 February), with a variety of shopping promotions and exclusive products.

The Adventure Coffee Drip Bag Set, created in partnership with Basha Coffee, is a 25-bag taster selection of flavoured coffees made from 100% Arabica beans.

Lotte was involved in the full development journey of the product, which is available to purchase in the retailer’s domestic and overseas stores, such as those in Japan, Vietnam and Guam.

The retailer has also teamed up with Taiwanese single malt whisky Kavalan to introduce the Grand Reserve Series, featuring two exclusive products.

The Grand Reserve Series is is centred around Kavalan’s Vino wine casks, which champion barrel ageing and blending craftsmanship.

The No. 1 product combines rare Spanish Amontillado sherry casks with flavours of apricot jam, berry and caramel cream whereas No. 2 combines the characteristics of Madeira wine casks with spicy nuances of Portuguese port wine casks to create a subtle aroma of nuts and wood.

The exclusive series can be found at Lotte Duty Free Myeongdong Main Branch, Gimpo Airport Branch and via Lotte Internet Duty Free, and the initiative builds on the strategic business agreement formed last year between Lotte Duty Free and Kavalan manufacturer King Car Group.

Various promotions and prize draws have also been released to mark the Lunar New Year.

Lotte Duty Free’s downtown branch is giving away LDF PAY of up to KRW 1.24 million on weekdays and up to KRW 1.45 million (depending on the payment method) on weekends from 17 January to 2 February. The incentive has been designed especially to appeal to customers who are navigating the high exchange rate.

In addition, those purchasing fashion and jewellery products at Lotte Duty Free Myeongdong Main Branch, World Tower Branch and Busan Store until 26 January will receive up to KRW 370,000 extra LDF PAY.

Finally, Lotte Internet Duty Free is giving customers who purchase more than $1 with Kakao Pay by 9 February that chance to win top prizes, including Batik Air Malaysia round-trip flight tickets to Kuala Lumpur, Hyatt e-gifts and Rimowa suitcases.

They can also leave comments on Lotte Duty Free and Kakao Pay’s official Instagram posts about the overseas destinations they hope to visit this year to be in with a chance of winning.
