Lotte makes its donation today.

Lotte Duty Free Shop announced today that it is holding ‘a donation ceremony’ for the 7th Love Heart International Heart Sickness Child Surgery Support Programme to fund operations for six Vietnamese children with heart disease.

The company said it is cooperating with the Green Umbrella Foundation and the local and largest medical operation – the Hoan My Medical Corporation – which operates six hospitals and one medical centre across central and southern Vietnam.

LOTTE PROVIDING ‘FULL SUPPORT’

In a statement, the company said that its 7th ‘Love Heart’ International Heart Disease Child Surgery Support Project is providing ‘full support’ for the cost of surgery for six Vietnamese children, with both the retailer and the Global Children’s Welfare Organization – the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation – donating the money today (see image above and below).

The Hoan My Medical Corporation has a good reputation for good work with children.

As part of this, the event was attended today by Lotte Duty Free Shop’s Kim Joo-nam from the retailer’s Support Division and Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation representative Lee Jong Hwa.

Lotte Duty Free says it has continued to cooperate with the non-profit foundation to provide surgical support for children with heart disease since 2012 in locations which include Vietnam, Malaysia, and China, with 12 children benefiting from cardiac surgery through this project alone  last year.

LOTTE ALSO SUPPORTS OTHER GOOD CAUSES…

In addition, Lotte Duty Free says it is continuing to support further social contribution projects overseas and it points to its Indonesian Overseas Children Alliance Project which has run since 2010, where around 200 of its employees have participated.

This project has been handled jointly with the Good Neighbors of the International Relief Development NGO, thanks to donations made by these employees and the company amounting to around KW200m.

Commenting on the initiative, Lotte Duty Free representative Kim Joo-nam said: “The reason why Lotte Duty Free Store was able to grow into the world’s second-largest duty free shop is that thanks to the love that customers all over the world have given us, we will continue to contribute to our global social contribution like Love Heart. We are pleased to be able to support more children in the seventh session,” he said.
