Malaysia Airports has launched its annual Licence to Win shopping campaign where airport shoppers can win a McLaren 570S Coupé. Themed Born to Reign, the campaign runs from 1 August 2019 to 31 January 2020. It features various prizes for shoppers and diners at international airports in Malaysia.

To commemorate the campaign, Malaysia Airports unveiled the McLaren 570S Coupé at a lavish party attended by several well known Kuala Lumpur personalities including Marion Caunter, Awal Ashaari, Scha Al-Yahya and Aliff Satar.

The event was held at Sentul Depot, which was transformed into a playground reflecting the car’s signature elements. These are speed, thrill and attitude. Guests enjoyed a performance by rapper Zamaera and danced to tunes from DJ Irama.

KEY TRANSFORMATION INITIATIVE

Nazli Aziz, Senior General Manager, Commercial Services, Malaysia Airports says the campaign aims to reward shoppers by enhancing their travel and airport experiences, while highlighting the diverse selection of commercial offerings available. He commented: “This initiative perfectly aligns with our commercial reset strategy, a key initiative to transform our airports from mere transportation hubs to premiere lifestyle destinations.”

Under the terms of the campaign, shoppers are eligible to submit an entry for every RM250 ($60) spent in a single receipt at any retail outlet within Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi and Kuching International Airports.

Travellers can also increase their chance of winning when spending with Licence To Win campaign partners including Maybank, Eraman, Boost, Malaysia Airlines and Petron.

Nazli added: “The number of passengers at our international airports in Malaysia for the January to June period grew by 4.2% compared to the same period last year. This meant a total of 43.4 million passengers passed through our doors, signifying the opportunity for growth in airport retail.

“With retail incentives such as Licence To Win, we hope to further entice airport guests to shop and enhance their total airport experience by offering lucrative prizes.”

In the first half of the year passenger numbers grew 9.3% at airports outside Kuala Lumpur. Taking into account this growth, the Licence to Win campaign has introduced a bonus prize for one lucky shopper in the form of a Ducati Monster 821 Superbike. Shoppers spending in excess of RM250 in a single receipt at PEN, LGK, BKI and KCH Airports have a chance to win.
