CDFG will be the exclusive distributor of this limited edition wine.

Masi has developed a wine in partnership with travel retailer China Duty Free Group (CDFG).

Titled Nectar Costasera Lunar – New Year of the Dragon, the limited-edition wine is a Nectar Costasera Amarone Classico 2018.

Masi today produces five different Amarone and says this edition marks the Lunar Year of the Dragon, which begins on 24 February 2024.

Pier Giuseppe Torresani, Export and Travel Retail Sales Director at Masi said: “Travel Retail has always been a key pillar of Masi’s distribution strategy. In recent years, the growing interest and passion for wine in Asia, have led Masi to establish new collaborations with the most important operators in the area.”

Torresani added: “The Nectar Costasera Amarone Lunar edition not only celebrates the new year but also symbolises the partnership between Masi and CDFG.”

The traditional red motifs and floating golden dragon adorning the Nectar Costasera Lunar bottle are a reference to an iconic dance performed during Chinese New Year celebrations.

CDFG is the only state-owned enterprise authorised by the State Council to operate duty free businesses across the country.

“This marks our inaugural exclusive collaboration with a travel retail operator,” said Torresani, adding, “The feedback from this collaboration has been exceedingly positive, and we are actively exploring additional opportunities for the future. Our objective is to initiate projects that offer substantial added value for consumers, allowing them the chance to possess something genuinely unique and exclusive.”
