Dufry Group and Maui Jim recently partnered to promote Manchester United’s association with the International Champions Cup.

As reported, the polarised eyewear specialist struck a multi-year deal with the iconic football club earlier this year to become its official vision partner, delivering optical and sunwear ranges to its teams.

Key travel retail locations hosted special displays during July, joining game-day activations during the club’s tour of Asia Pacific and a media event in Singapore.

PERTH ACTIVATION

At Perth Airport, Dufry featured a high-profile promotion at the Perth Collection Store.

Pillar displays featured Manchester United stars wearing Maui Jim eyewear and a stocker unit was established in the centre of the store housing 36 frames.

Beat Schärer, Global Category Management Head – Watches, Jewelry & Accessories, Dufry commented: “We were very pleased to partner with Maui Jim and to introduce the Manchester United Official Club Collection at Perth Airport.

“Maui Jim is one of our key pillar brands and, with this new collection, we are offering our customers something new and innovative, allowing them to celebrate their passion for the game.”

Manchester United played two games in Perth, defeating Perth Glory and Leeds United.

Following these fixtures were victories against Inter Milan in Singapore and Tottenham Hostspur in Shanghai, before the club flew back to Europe.
