Melbourne traffic up 12%

International passenger growth at Melbourne Airport continued in February, with numbers up by 12% to 502,154, an increase of 51,816 compared to February 2010, with the strongest performing markets including Asia, New Zealand, the US and the UK.
Specifically, Australian passport holders grew +15%; New Zealand +15%; China +21%; South Korea +24%; Philippines +13%; Indonesia and Vietnam both +11%; the USA +5%; and the UK +3% when compared to February last year.
Passenger growth for February was again driven by China and the February result follows the 33% increase in January and the 22% increase in Chinese visitors for the whole last year.
