New DFASS programme for Hong Kong Airlines
By Kevin Rozario |
Hong Kong Airlines and DFASS Group have developed a new in-flight duty-free programme called SkyShop which the carrier expects will lift its in-flight sales by +30%.
The programme includes 17 new global brands including Crabtree and Evelyn, Hugo Boss fragrances, Super Dry watches and the latest gadgets from MiLi. Meanwhile, premium brands such as Johnnie Walker and Gucci will be prominently featured.
The partnership now enables Hong Kong Airlines’ customers to shop on board, or in the comfort of their homes using an online platform which also allows them to pre-order before flying.
“The new partnership with DFASS shows Hong Kong Airlines’ determination to bring the best products and services to our passengers, and we hope to increase our in-flight sales by +30%,” says Hong Kong Airlines’ Vice President Sun Jianfeng (right in picture). “Cosmetics and tobacco are the best-selling categories on SkyShop, which is largely due to the increasing numbers of male business travellers.”
IMPROVED PURCHASING PROCESSES
With its presence in Hong Kong, DFASS Group, the largest global in-flight retail concessionaire, has underlined its commitment to airline partners in Asia and particularly in greater China.
John Garner, DFASS Group Deputy Chairman comments: “Buy-on-board services and logistics will surely improve crew efficiency on purchasing processes in the cabin to a great extent. In addition, DFASS’s scale of operations and passenger knowledge in the region will ensure the right choice of alluring merchandise to best fit customers’ demands. We see a fantastic opportunity to develop Hong Kong Airlines’ business into one of the world’s most innovative and best-performing programmes.”
Sun adds: “Hong Kong Airlines holds the strong belief that this mutually beneficial partnership will open a new chapter in the development of Hong Kong Airlines and DFASS Group.”
In conjunction with the Lunar New Year celebration, there will be a series of promotions which offer gift-with-purchases and discounts of up to 35% on selected products. With 72 additional flights during this festive season, all Hong Kong Airlines’ passengers travelling from 16 January to 31 March can benefit from this promotion. In addition, Gold and Silver members of the Fortune Wings Club, the airline’s premium club for passengers, will enjoy an additional 5% discount on any in-flight purchases.
