Old Pulteney adds 13 year old single malt expression to GTR range

Old Pulteney’s 13 year old release is said to evoke the coastal character of the distillery.

International Beverage-owned single malt Scotch whisky distillery Old Pulteney has added a 13 year old bottling to its global travel retail line up, set to be unveiled at the upcoming TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference.

Old Pulteney 13 Years Old will initially be available from key European and UK locations from May and June respectively, with an RRP of £65 for a 1-litre bottling.

Released at 43% ABV, the single malt joins the distillery’s existing GTR line up, which includes Old Pulteney 10 Years Old and 16 Years Old.

The expression was initially matured in American oak casks, before a finishing period in Spanish oak.

Said to offer notes of coconut, citrus, vanilla custard and candied almonds with a medium to long finish, the release evokes the sea air reminiscent of the distillery’s coastal location in Wick, northern of Scotland. 

“The launch of Old Pulteney 13 Years Old reaffirms our commitment to investing in the global travel retail channel and we are confident that it will be a welcome addition to our range,” said Malcolm Waring, Pulteney Distillery Manager.

“Each of our travel retail whiskies embodies Pulteney Distillery’s signature coastal style, with a distinctive flavour that comes from being matured by the sea and striking modern maritime inspired packaging that perfectly reflects the whisky inside.”

Old Pulteney first doubled down on its travel retail ambitions in 2018 with the launch of its ‘reinvigorated’ travel retail collection.
