The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has announced that it will be open house to members of the public who wish to get a sneak preview of Changi Airport's new Budget Terminal (BT) from
March 15.The CAAS will open the airport for public viewing for five days before closing the doors until the official date of March 26 2006.
The CAAS says the aim of these visits is to allow the public to familiarise themselves with the simple and functional terminal prior to its opening.
The CAAS said: ‘Visitors will be able to view the cheerful internal and external fa?ade of the BT's single-storey departure and arrival buildings located along Airport Boulevard near Changi Airport. As part of the guided tours, visitors will be introduced to and will walk through the departure and arrival processes, which are different from those at Changi Airport's Terminals 1 and 2.
‘For example, a key difference will be the boarding of aircraft from the tarmac instead of via aerobridges. In addition, visitors will also be able to preview the various facilities and services such as money changers and free internet terminals, as well as the retail and food and beverage outlets that are being set up.
