Oribe rolls out Kohei Kyomori designed holiday sets with Hyundai Duty Free

Travellers can get their hands on the 2022 Oribe Holiday Collection, complete with packaging exclusively designed by modern Japanese artist Kohei Kyomori, at Hyundai Duty Free in South Korea from December.
Kyomori, who is known for his vibrant, digital paintings, has created original designs for the seven limited-edition gift sets in the collection.
“A large part of what we look for when selecting an artist is how they bring perspective and purpose to their work,” explains Vince Stavale, Director of Packaging for Oribe Hair Care.
“We were immediately drawn to Kohei’s detailed and eye-catching style and inspired by his mindset that art is an opportunity to bridge social and cultural barriers to create beauty that can be understood and admired by all.”
Inspired by the Oribe ‘goddess’ logo, Kohei created the ‘Goddess of Paradise’ artwork, which weaves together traditional Japanese animal and plant motifs in a garden setting, depicting a goddess’ flowing hair transforming into cascading water.

The 2022 Oribe Holiday Collection comprises seven sets with packaging exclusively designed by modern Japanese artist Kohei Kyomori.
The shapes and forms that the water takes represent a diverse range of hair textures.
Different elements of the painting are used in each of the colourful gift boxes and enclosed packaging, making the limited-time collection standout on the shelves.
“Hair was a new and interesting motif for me as there are so many abstract shapes to work with,” said Kohei.
“The Oribe team and I worked closely on every facet of the production and shared a strong mutual agreement that the work communicate the message of ‘unity in diversity.’ I am so pleased with the end result.”
All the boxes are made from 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) paper.
The internal trays on applicable sets are made from 100% biodegradable and renewable plant fibre, produced at zero emission and zero waste to landfill manufacturing facilities. Both components of the packaging are recyclable.
